Warframe's TennoCon 2024: A Blast from the Past with Warframe: 1999
TennoCon 2024 delivered a knockout punch with the announcement of Warframe: 1999, a massive update promising a nostalgic trip back to 1999. Get ready for a thrilling ride through a Techrot-infested city on the brink of a Y2K apocalypse.
Before the main event, a prologue quest, "The Lotus Eaters," launches in August 2024. This quest reunites players with a beloved character and sets the stage for the 1999 storyline. It also introduces Sevatgoth Prime and their unique weapons. Completing "The Lotus Eaters" is a prerequisite for playing Warframe: 1999, slated for release in Winter 2024.

Warframe: 1999 plunges players into an alternate 1999, where the Y2K bug manifests as a deadly virus. The setting is Höllvania, a vibrant 90s city corrupted by Techrot. Navigate this retro-futuristic landscape using the new Atomicyles, vehicles capable of bullet jumps, drifts, and even explosive maneuvers. Players control the Hex, a team of six heroes each equipped with a Protoframe, a Warframe showcasing the human beneath.
The team, featuring Arthur (Excalibur), Aoi (Mag), and the new Warframe CYTE-09 (Quincy), is brought to life by a stellar cast including Alpha Takahashi, Ben Starr, Melissa Medina, and Amelia Tyler. Interact with them through in-game instant messaging for a truly authentic 1999 experience.

Prepare for a showdown with On-lyne, a 90s boy band turned infected foes, led by the charismatic Zeke (voiced by Nick Apostolides). Their infectious music, including the hit single "Party of Your Lifetime," will be available on major streaming platforms.
Fashion takes center stage with upgraded systems, allowing for two customizable Warframe loadouts. The introduction of Gemini Skins lets players bring Protoframes like Arthur and Aoi into the Origin System, complete with fully voiced lines.

Beyond Warframe: 1999, Digital Extremes is collaborating with THE LINE to create an anime short, and new Heirloom skins for Ember (available now) and Rhino (early 2025) are on the way.
With Warframe: 1999 on the horizon, download Warframe now from the App Store and get ready for the ultimate retro-futuristic adventure!
