Nightdive Studios' revamped version of the 1999 sci-fi horror RPG, originally titled System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition, is getting a name change and a new platform. Now known as System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster, the game will also launch on Nintendo Switch.
System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will soon be available on Windows PC (Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
The official synopsis:
The year is 2114. Awakening from cryo-sleep aboard the Von Braun starship, you find yourself with amnesia, amidst chaos. Hybrid mutants and lethal robots stalk the ship's corridors, the screams of survivors echoing through the vessel's cold metal shell. SHODAN, a malevolent AI hellbent on humanity's annihilation, has seized control. Your mission: stop her. Explore the derelict Von Braun, immersing yourself in its rich narrative and atmosphere. Unravel the horrifying fate of the ship and its crew, deck by deck.
Nightdive Studios confirmed that a release date and a new trailer will debut during the Future Game Show Spring Showcase livestream on March 20, 2025.
