SwitchArcade Round-Up: Reviews Featuring ‘Fitness Boxing feat. Hatsune Miku’, Plus New Releases, Sales, and Good-Byes

Feb 02,2025 Author: Henry

Farewell, SwitchArcade Readers! This is the final regular SwitchArcade Round-Up from me. After several years, circumstances necessitate a change of course. But we're going out with a bang!

Reviews & Mini-Views

Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU ($49.99)

Imagineer's Fitness Boxing series continues with a collaboration featuring Hatsune Miku. This rhythm-boxing game offers daily workouts, mini-games, and Miku-themed content. It's Joy-Con only, lacking Pro Controller support. While the music is excellent, the main instructor's voice is a bit jarring. A solid fitness game, best used to supplement, rather than replace, other exercise routines.

Features include difficulty settings, free training, warm-ups, progress tracking, and unlockable cosmetics. The base game is enjoyable, though DLC remains unreviewed. Overall, preferred to Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star.

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5 - Mikhail Madnani

Magical Delicacy ($24.99)

A Metroidvania-cooking game hybrid. While the exploration and Metroidvania elements are well-executed, inventory management and UI could use improvement. The pixel art and music are stunning, and the game offers customizable UI scaling and text options. Some frame pacing issues were noted on Switch. Potentially excellent with future updates.

The story follows a young witch, Flora, and the gameplay blends mystery, magic, and wholesome charm. The Switch version plays well, with good rumble. Handheld play is recommended.

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5 - Mikhail Madnani

Aero The Acro-Bat 2 ($5.99)

A surprisingly well-presented re-release. Ratalaika Games has improved the emulation wrapper, including box and manual scans, achievements, a sprite gallery, a jukebox, and cheats. The Super NES version is included (no Genesis/Mega Drive version). A polished experience, though perhaps lacking some of the original's charm. A solid platformer for fans of the genre and the original Aero.

SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5 - Shaun Musgrave

Metro Quester | Osaka ($19.99)

A prequel to Metro Quester, set in Osaka. More of an expansion than a sequel, adding a new dungeon, characters, and mechanics. Retains the original's turn-based combat and top-down exploration. Requires careful planning and cautious play. Highly recommended for fans of the original.

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5 - Shaun Musgrave

NBA 2K25 ($59.99)

The latest NBA 2K installment. Features improved gameplay, a new "Neighborhood" feature, and MyTEAM mode. Requires 53.3 GB of storage space.

A Darkest Dungeon-style game with a Japanese setting.
