Nintendo revealed that the Switch 2 has shattered company records as its fastest-selling hardware globally, moving over 3.5 million units within just four days of launch.
The announcement came via Twitter/X, where Nintendo stated: "#NintendoSwitch2 has surpassed 3.5 million worldwide sales in its opening four days, marking Nintendo's most successful hardware launch ever."

This milestone was likely achieved thanks to improved inventory management - a notable departure from Nintendo's and competitors' past supply challenges. It aligns with Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser's assurance that sufficient stock would meet U.S. consumer demand.
By comparison, the original Switch sold 2.74 million units during its entire first month.
The news follows recent reports from The Game Business declaring the Switch 2 the fastest-selling Nintendo console in UK history, outperforming the previous record-holder, the Nintendo 3DS.
In our ongoing Nintendo Switch review, we noted: "This sequel delivers exactly what we anticipated - a refined upgrade to Nintendo's excellent console that modernizes outdated elements, enhances numerous design details, and introduces ambitious (if slightly uneven) new control functionality."
