RuneScape Concludes 24-Year Storyline with Eclipse of the Heart

After more than two decades, RuneScape has released the last installment of its longest-running saga with Eclipse of the Heart, a new quest now available on Android and other platforms. The Desert Saga questline has woven together years of lore and ancient prophecies.

It all began 24 years ago with the simple task of rescuing Prince Ali. From there, it evolved into an epic journey across the desert, building toward a final showdown that will determine the fate of the world.

What’s Happening in the story?

If you've followed the saga, you've traversed scorching dunes, uncovered hidden truths, awakened forgotten gods, and witnessed betrayals that shifted Gielinor's balance of power.

Now, as the shadow of an eclipse looms over Menaphos, the city trembles under the looming threat of Amascut, the Goddess of Destruction. What unfolds next is in your hands—just as it has been throughout this storyline.

To start the Eclipse of the Heart quest, you’ll need to meet several requirements: Level 90 Necromancy, Level 65 Agility, completion of Pharaoh’s Folly and the Do No Evil quest, and the necessary structures built for the Fort Forinthry storyline.

The quest begins in Menaphos, where Pharaoh Leela is waiting to discuss a plan to stop Amascut before she devours the souls beneath the city. Amascut will debut as a full boss on August 4th.

What rewards does the Eclipse of the Heart bring to RuneScape?

Completing Eclipse of the Heart rewards you with a new title and four Stone-Touched XP Lamps, each offering 250,000 XP. You’ll also receive desert-themed cosmetics for your Lorehound, the Amascut’s Eye skybox override, and an upgraded Magic Carpet Dust.

At the same time, RuneScape is running a major gameplay experiment from July 28th to September 30th. Cosmetic-Free Worlds are part of the ongoing MTX experiment—these special worlds will hide various cosmetic effects, including wardrobe overrides, teleport animations, pets, skilling icons, and hitsplats.

You can download the game from the Google Play Store. Be sure to also check out our next piece on Shaved Ice Décor Pikmin in Pikmin Bloom.
