Details remain scarce regarding the game's setting within the Star Wars timeline or its specific mechanics. However, given the team's XCOM heritage, players can likely expect deep tactical gameplay infused with Star Wars lore.
While Respawn continues development on the third Star Wars Jedi installment, there's no confirmation of its appearance at this year's event. Previously, the studio had been working on a rumored Mandalorian-based FPS before its cancellation during EA's restructuring that affected approximately 670 employees. More recently in March, Respawn discontinued an undisclosed multiplayer FPS prototype, resulting in additional staff reductions.
Additional highlights at Star Wars Celebration include previews of The Mandalorian & Grogu movie (slated for May 2026) and early footage from Star Wars: Visions Volume 3.
