- Sonic Rumble launch delayed
- Version 1.2 update brings major new gameplay features
- Developers hosting Discord Q&A on May 2nd
After generating excitement with its crossover event featuring Super Monkey Ball, Altered Beast, and other Sega icons, Sonic Rumble's global release has been postponed. The battle royale title had amassed impressive momentum with over 1.4 million pre-registrations ahead of its planned launch. Sega has decided to take additional development time before releasing the multiplayer experience.
The delay coincides with preparations for update 1.2, introducing transformative features to Dr. Eggman's toybox world. Players can anticipate Rumble Rankings (seasonal competitive leaderboards), Crews (team score missions), and character Skills (special abilities) - all designed to add strategic depth beyond the core chaotic battles.
Rather than implementing these systems post-launch, Sega chose to delay release for proper integration. Developers will host a Discord Q&A on May 2nd to address community questions about the enhancements.

Pre-registration incentives remain intact, including:
- 5,000 Rings currency
- Crystal Chao Buddy cosmetic
- Happy Sticker
- Garnet Knuckles skin
- Movie Sonic skin (unlocked at 1.4M pre-registrations)
Prospective players can still pre-register through official channels. Sonic Rumble will launch as a free-to-play title with optional in-app purchases. Visit the official website for complete details.
