Looking back on the year? Many apps offer year-end recaps, and Snapchat is joining the party with its new 2024 Snap Recap feature.

What is a Snap Recap?

Unlike Spotify Wrapped or Twitch recaps focusing on detailed statistics, Snapchat's 2024 Snap Recap offers a more casual, visual retrospective. It selects a single Snap from each month of the year, creating a fun (and perhaps slightly embarrassing) highlight reel of your 2024. The recap seamlessly transitions into your Memories, allowing you to explore further flashbacks from previous years.

Accessing Your 2024 Snap Recap

Your 2024 Snap Recap is automatically generated and easily accessible. On the main Snapchat camera screen, swipe up to open Memories. (Don't press the shutter button!) Your recap should be prominently displayed as a highlighted video.

Tap the recap (avoiding the share icon) to view your curated selection of Snaps. The recap plays automatically, but you can tap the screen to advance through the months. You can save, edit, or share your recap like any other Snap, including posting it to your Story.

Why Don't I Have a Snap Recap?

If your 2024 Snap Recap isn't appearing, don't worry. Snapchat confirms a staggered rollout, so yours may simply not be ready yet. The number of saved Snaps is a factor; infrequent use might prevent a recap from being generated. Unfortunately, Snapchat support doesn't offer a way to request a recap if one isn't automatically created.
