With a projected average of one new 5-star character per update, providing annual reruns for all 43 limited 5-star characters within the 27 available banner slots is simply unsustainable.
While the introduction of the Chronicled Banner aimed to alleviate this issue, many players view it as a temporary solution rather than a comprehensive fix. Shenhe's extended wait time of over 600 days before her rerun demonstrates this limitation. Until the developers implement triple banners, extended rerun wait times are likely to persist.
Wriothesley, a Cryo Catalyst introduced in Version 4.1, exemplifies this problem. His absence from Event Banners since November 8, 2023, has left many players eager for his return. According to leaker Flying Flame, Version 5.4 will include his rerun. His Burnmelt team compositions and strong Cryo hypercarry capabilities make him a highly sought-after character.
Potential for Wriothesley Banner in Version 5.4
It's crucial to note that Flying Flame's track record isn't flawless. While they accurately predicted the Version 5.3 Chronicled Banner, other leaks have proven inaccurate. Therefore, this information should be treated with caution. However, the recent Spiral Abyss buffs benefit Wriothesley's playstyle, lending some credence to the rumor.
Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley share the Event Banners, the remaining 5-star slots could feature either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive a sequential rerun. Version 5.4's projected launch date is February 12, 2025.
