Rockstar, the masterminds behind the GTA series, have surprised fans with an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile platforms. After a six-year wait, this update is exclusively for mobile users, leaving console and PC players out of the loop.
Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!
Bully: Anniversary Edition's latest update introduces new languages and focuses on enhancing the game's stability and fixing bugs. Notably, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges to streamline the update process.
For Android users with compatible devices, Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO) has been enabled, improving visual quality. The app icon has been refreshed, and haptic feedback has been added to enhance the gaming experience on both iOS and Android platforms.
Several mission-specific issues have been resolved. For instance, in 'That Bitch', players can now successfully pick Mandy's locker. 'Weed Killer' now progresses correctly even if the window is broken prematurely. Additionally, the glitch causing police cars to fall through the floor in 'The Rumble' has been fixed.
The update also addresses gameplay issues where enemies wouldn't attack Jimmy, leading to unbalanced combat scenarios. Furthermore, crashes that occurred when starting a new game or loading saves from the pause menu have been eliminated.
What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?
The fanbase has been vocal about their desire for Bully 2, but Rockstar appears to be focusing on other projects. There were rumors of a sequel in development during the 2010s, but it was reportedly shelved in favor of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online. With GTA 6 on the horizon, the prospects for Bully 2 seem slim, especially with many original developers having moved on from Rockstar.
While this update isn't a full remaster or a sequel, it's a significant upgrade for mobile players. For those new to the series, Bully offers a unique take on a schoolyard sandbox, with players stepping into the shoes of Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old navigating the chaotic world of Bullworth Academy. The game is infused with Rockstar's signature humor and open-world antics.
You can dive into Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, complete with full gamepad support.
