The Hawkmoon exploit involved using the Kinetic Holster leg mod to reload the weapon without losing its Paracausal Shot perk. This allowed for sustained, overpowered damage, leading to numerous one-shot kills in Crucible. Bungie swiftly responded by disabling Hawkmoon in PvP while a fix is developed.
This action follows another recent exploit allowing players to farm rewards in private matches while AFK. Although this exploit primarily yielded common resources, the quick removal disappointed some players. The contrast in Bungie's response highlights the different priorities given to various exploits.
