Pokemon GO Unveils New Tour Pass for Upcoming Unova Event
Get ready, trainers! A new Tour Pass is launching in Pokémon GO, timed perfectly with the highly anticipated Unova-themed event running from February 24th to March 9th. This pass offers exciting rewards and progression milestones for all players.
This year's Pokémon GO Tour focuses on the Unova region (Generation 5), bringing a wave of Gen 5 Pokémon into the wild, raids, and eggs. The annual Pokémon GO Tour, held around Pokémon Day, celebrates a different region each year. Previous Tours have featured Kanto (2021) and Sinnoh (2022), introducing new shiny Pokémon and unique variants.
The new Tour Pass, available from February 24th, 10 am to March 2nd, 6 pm local time, offers a free and a deluxe version. Earn Tour Points by completing daily tasks, catching Pokémon, participating in raids, and hatching eggs to level up your pass. Progress unlocks Minor and Major milestones, rewarding players with items like Candy and Stickers. Reaching the final milestone grants an encounter with a special Zorua. Remember, all rewards expire on March 9th at 6 pm.
A Deluxe Pass Option
For $14.99 (or $19.99 for a version with 10 unlocked ranks), a deluxe version is available on the Pokémon GO Webstore during the same timeframe. This unlocks all free and paid rewards, plus an encounter with the Mythical Pokémon Victini and a brand-new Lucky Trinket. This unique item guarantees a Lucky Trade with a chosen friend, resetting their Lucky Friend status afterward. Deluxe Pass rewards, including the Lucky Trinket, also expire on March 9th at 6 pm.
Unova Event Highlights
The Unova Tour promises an electrifying experience. Kyurem (Black and White) makes its Pokémon GO debut via fusion, echoing last year's Necrozma fusion. Shiny Meloetta will also debut, accessible through a ticketed Masterwork Research. The Tour Pass adds another layer of excitement to this already anticipated event.
