Which Nintendo Franchise Deserves a LEGO Set the Most in 2025?

Nintendo and LEGO have teamed up to produce some fantastic LEGO Nintendo sets. Last year alone saw the release of the dynamic Mario and Yoshi set, and the debut of a LEGO Legend of Zelda set. While these are excellent, the potential for LEGO sets based on other iconic Nintendo franchises remains largely untapped.

Currently, the market is dominated by a wide array of Mario sets (including Donkey Kong) and a selection of Animal Crossing sets. This leaves many other beloved franchises unrepresented. As a dual fan of LEGO and Nintendo, I yearn for more options. To fellow enthusiasts, I ask: Which Nintendo franchise should be next in line for the LEGO treatment?

The recent Switch 2 announcement fuels anticipation for the next generation of Nintendo. We can likely expect continued LEGO Nintendo releases, especially with Nintendo's movie investments (the new Mario movie and the upcoming live-action Zelda adaptation). What LEGO Nintendo sets might we see in 2025 and beyond? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Personally, I believe a Metroid line would be incredibly compelling. With Metroid Prime 4 on the horizon, it's the perfect time for some amazing LEGO builds. Additionally, I'd love to see official LEGO Pokémon sets, instead of the existing MEGA sets. However, this may be unlikely due to Mattel's existing Pokémon licensing agreement.
