Monster Hunter Now is buzzing with excitement as Niantic trials a fresh feature called Monster Outbreaks, gathering player input to refine it before its official launch.
The trial runs on April 26th and 27th, with sessions lasting a few hours each day. Events occur twice daily on Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 to 10:59 a.m. and 3:00 to 3:59 p.m., local time.
At specific outbreak locations on the map, players will encounter clusters of 8-star Black Diablos. The challenge is to team up with others to defeat 100 of them at a single outbreak point within the one-hour window, not a global total.
Participants must be at least HR 11 to join, and only in-person group hunts are eligible—no party feature allowed.
Outbreak points are highlighted with a unique map icon. Tapping it reveals details, and a sign-up roster lets players signal their intent to join the hunt.
The kill counter adds a twist: if four hunters defeat one monster, it counts as four toward the 100-target goal.
If the group reaches 100 kills before the hour ends, hunting can continue with only Black Diablos spawning during the event.
Successful groups earn rewards, including 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Ridges, 3 Primeshells, 3 Marrows, and 2,000 Zenny. Using the sign-up roster also unlocks a special Outbreak Test I Medal.
