Metro 2033: A Walkthrough for the Cursed Station Mission

Despite its age, Metro 2033 remains a fan favorite, especially after the release of the VR title, Metro Awakening. This guide focuses on the challenging Cursed Station mission (Turgenevskaya in the books), where Artyom first encounters anomalies. The mission's unclear objectives and confusing layout often trip players up. After witnessing an anomaly eliminate a nosalis horde, Khan leads Artyom to the station via railcar.

Locating the Bomb

The defenders explain that an explosives team vanished while attempting to collapse a tunnel, preventing further nosalis attacks. Artyom must find and detonate the bomb. Expect constant nosalis attacks; retreat to the defenders for support if overwhelmed. The bomb is located at the far end of the right-hand tunnel. Avoid the ghostly shadows; they'll damage you. Once you have the bomb, either proceed to the adjacent tunnel or retreat if necessary.

Destroying the Tunnel

To detonate the bomb, enter the left-hand tunnel (from the defenders' perspective) and wait for the cutscene. Artyom automatically plants and lights the fuse; escape immediately to avoid the blast. Alternatively, a grenade or pipe bomb will achieve the same result. Note that even after destroying this tunnel, nosalises may still enter from other points.

Securing the Airlock

The defenders also mention an airlock that needs to be sealed. Climb the stairs on the right to the torchlit area. Ignore any nosalises and interact with the support columns to place a pipe bomb. Evacuate immediately after lighting the fuse. With both entrances destroyed, proceed with Khan to the shrine room, then descend through the floor panel to begin the "Armory" mission.
