Today's State of Play unveiled a brand-new trailer for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake, revealing more gameplay, an updated Snake vs. Monkey mode featuring characters from Ape Escape, and a possible hint at Metal Gear Online?
The trailer highlights Snake’s signature stealth, showing him slipping through environments undetected, disguised in plain sight, hiding among foliage, and ultimately confronting enemies in several of the game’s legendary boss battles.
But the trailer’s finale takes a more playful turn, spotlighting the reimagined Snake vs. Monkey mode with Ape Escape’s monkeys, as Snake attempts to ambush and capture them. When this mode was first announced, we were told Xbox players would receive a parallel experience centered around Bomberman—so a glimpse of that version may arrive soon during Xbox’s showcase or in a future trailer. And then, at the very end, a subtle tease suggests...Metal Gear Online? That “and more” certainly leaves us curious.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a full remake of the original Metal Gear Solid 3, first revealed in 2023. Though it’s appeared frequently in State of Play events, it’s not exclusive to PlayStation—it’s set to launch on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on August 28, 2025. We previewed it last August and shared our full thoughts here.
