Marvel Rivals Season 1 Mid-Season Update: No Rank Reset
A recent Marvel Rivals update sparked confusion regarding a potential rank reset. While many live-service games reset ranks at the start of each season, NetEase Games initially planned a mid-season reset for Marvel Rivals Season 1 on February 21, 2025, coinciding with the release of The Thing and Human Torch.
However, due to significant negative player feedback, NetEase reversed course. The developer announced that there would be no mid-season rank reset. Players will retain their existing ranks and scores. To earn new rewards (including a Gold rank costume and Crests of Honor), players only need to complete 10 competitive matches and meet specific conditions by the end of Season 1.
This decision demonstrates NetEase's responsiveness to player concerns and highlights their commitment to a positive competitive experience. The absence of a reset provides higher-ranked players with extended time to compete at the top level.
Season 1 Mid-Season Update Content:
Beyond the absence of a rank reset, the mid-season update introduces The Thing and Human Torch as playable characters. Specific character balance adjustments (buffs and nerfs) have yet to be detailed.
Marvel Rivals is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
