Star Wars enthusiasts are thrilled: Lucasfilm has unveiled an expansive update to its galaxy mapping project, showcasing a detailed chart with over 500 planets.
Curious about the distance between Tatooine and Hoth? Wondering how secluded Yoda’s Dagobah swamp was? Or how far Jakku lies from the galactic core? This map has the answers.
The galaxy’s enigmatic Unknown Regions are now better charted, revealing Exegol, the Sith planet from Rise of Skywalker. Rey’s challenging quest with an ancient dagger to locate the Death Star ruins could have been simpler with this map in hand.
Despite its remote depiction in the film, Exegol isn’t the map’s most distant planet. The Unknown Regions also include Csilla, the secretive homeworld of the blue-skinned Chiss, notably the origin of Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Not all familiar Star Wars planets appear. Notable exclusions include “extragalactic” sites like Kamino, the clone-producing planet, and Peridea, explored in Ahsoka within a separate galaxy.
Lucasfilm plans to update the map periodically and provide detailed regional maps for areas like the Inner Rim, Colonies, Core, and Deep Core.

Explore the complete map here, with a comprehensive list of all featured planets to pinpoint exactly what you’re seeking.
Coming soon in the Star Wars saga: Ahsoka’s second season and the cinematic debut of The Mandalorian & Grogu. Ryan Gosling will also star in the 2027 film Star Wars: Starfighter.
