Slaying monsters is only half the battle in Monster Hunter Wilds. Crafting powerful armor and weapons requires gathering essential materials, and Lightcrystals are a key component. This guide details how to farm Lightcrystals and what you can craft with them.
Monster Hunter Wilds Lightcrystal Farming Locations
Lightcrystals are found by mining Mining Outcrops scattered throughout Monster Hunter Wilds. The drop rate is random, so be patient! Here are the locations:
- Windward Plains: Areas 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 17
- Oilwell Basin: Areas 4, 6, 7
- Iceshard Cliffs: Areas 8, 16
- Ruins of Wyveria: Area 5
Mining Outcrops respawn approximately every 15-20 minutes. Feel free to explore other areas while waiting for them to replenish.
How to Use Lightcrystals
Once you've gathered enough Lightcrystals, return to Gemma at Base Camp. She'll use them to forge or upgrade the following equipment:
- Guild Knight Sabers I
- Dragon Perforator II
- Dual Hatchets II
- Triple Bayonet II
- Iron Assault II
- Iron Gale II
- Chain Blitz II
- Iron Accelerator II
- Hyperguard II
- Buster Sword II
- Iron Hammer II
- Metal Bagpipe II
- Chrome Drill II
- Iron Katana II
- Iron Beater II
- Ingot Vambraces
- Thunder Charm III
Keep in mind that many of these items (excluding the Thunder Charm) may become obsolete relatively quickly. Don't be afraid to replace them with superior gear as you progress.
