InZOI's game director, Hyungjun "KJoon" Kim, recently unveiled details about the game's unique paranormal features. Players will gain limited control over ghosts, a mechanic interwoven with a karma system. This system tracks player actions, influencing both their lives and their afterlife.

A character's karma determines their fate after death: peaceful transition to the afterlife or a lingering ghostly existence. Ghosts must accumulate missing karma points to finally move on.
While the early access version includes ghosts, player control will be added later. The developers stress InZOI's focus on realism, keeping paranormal elements subtle. However, they've hinted at the potential introduction of further unexplained phenomena in future updates.
