Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5 actor Ned Luke assures fans that the wait for GTA 6 will be worthwhile, even predicting a staggering first-day revenue. Read on to discover more about what to expect from GTA 6 and its development.
Rockstar Games To Do Something Unexpected For GTA 6
GTA 5 Actor Predicts $1.3 Billion First-Day Sales for GTA 6

Ned Luke, the voice of Michael De Santa in GTA 5, boldly predicts that GTA 6 will generate a massive $1.3 billion on its first day of release. In an interview with Fall Damage YouTube channel, Luke expressed his excitement for the upcoming game, highlighting Rockstar Games' knack for the unexpected.
He emphasized patience, assuring fans, "It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." Recalling GTA 5's impressive $800 million first-day haul in 2013, Luke confidently anticipates that GTA 6 will significantly surpass its predecessor's performance.
Market research firm DFC Intelligence supports this optimism, projecting over 40 million GTA 6 sales and $3.2 billion in revenue within the first year, with a billion dollars attributed solely to pre-orders.
The Return of GTA 5 Characters in GTA 6?

Luke also offered insights into the potential return of GTA 5 characters in GTA Online and possibly GTA 6. He noted that his character, Michael, has been absent from GTA Online since its launch, unlike Trevor and Franklin.
Luke hinted at Michael's possible appearance in a speculated final DLC for GTA Online or even a role in GTA 6. While Steven Ogg (Trevor in GTA 5) previously suggested a "passing the torch" scenario for Trevor (involving his death), Luke remained coy: "Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything. And if we say anything, you know they will not be very happy." Despite the actors' enthusiasm, no official confirmation exists regarding their characters' presence in GTA 6.
GTA 6: Possibly in the Testing Phase

Former Rockstar Games animator Mike York suggests GTA 6 is likely undergoing internal testing. In a since-deleted interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz (via GamesRadar), York described GTA 6's unique unpredictability, stating, "There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it, you know? You really don't."
York believes the game is currently undergoing in-house testing, adding, "They're probably still putting in a little work and throwing in little extras." He speculates the game is playable and that numerous testers have likely already experienced it.
Following a December 2023 trailer reveal, Rockstar Games has remained tight-lipped about GTA 6. While a Fall 2025 release was previously suggested based on Take-Two Interactive's 2024 financial report, no official release date has been confirmed.
