The December 2024 PS Plus Extra and Premium additions, including Forspoken and Sonic Frontiers, generated surprisingly positive initial responses. However, this enthusiasm has been tempered by subsequent player experiences.
Many free players abandoned Forspoken after a short time, criticizing the dialogue and storyline. While some appreciated the combat, parkour, and exploration, the general feeling is that the narrative significantly detracts from the overall enjoyment. The game's inconsistencies appear to have prevented a PS Plus resurgence.
Forspoken follows Frey, a young woman from New York, who finds herself transported to the breathtaking yet perilous land of Athia. To return home, Frey must master her newfound magical abilities, battle formidable creatures, and defeat powerful matriarchs known as the Tants, all while navigating this expansive and visually stunning world.
