Final Fantasy Brave Exvius (JP) and Dragon Quest of the Stars will cease operations on October 31st.
Brave Exvius will launch a Grand Finale Campaign and introduce a Memorial Version.
Dragon Quest of the Stars will conclude its Demon Star Gods narrative with final events.
Square Enix has repeatedly discontinued mobile titles, and now two enduring RPGs are set to end their runs. The Japanese versions of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and Dragon Quest of the Stars will both shut down on October 31st, bringing closure to years of content and collaborations.
Brave Exvius represents a particularly poignant loss, as this marks the final shutdown of the game’s last remaining version. The global edition was discontinued last year, making this Japanese closure the true endpoint for a series once considered a staple of mobile gaming.
To honor its community, Square Enix will host a Grand Finale Campaign and release a special Memorial Version after service ends. Though it likely won’t function as a playable experience, it will serve as an offline gallery, allowing players to revisit memories from its decade-long journey.
Meanwhile, Dragon Quest of the Stars is preparing a celebratory farewell as it approaches its shutdown. Leading up to October, Square Enix is rolling out a series of special events to bring the story to a memorable close.
The final storyline features the return of legendary bosses and the resolution of the Demon Star Gods arc. New gear inspired by the Demon Star Gods’ evolved forms, the awakening of the last Hugmetal into Metakin, and anniversary campaigns commemorating the game’s 10th anniversary are also in the works.
It’s a bittersweet conclusion for both titles, but Japanese fans will at least have one final celebration before the servers go dark. October will mark the end of an era for longtime players.
