Hotta Studios' upcoming 3D open-world RPG, Neverness to Everness, is initiating its first closed beta test, exclusively in mainland China. While international players will unfortunately miss out on this initial test phase, the anticipation remains high for this promising title.
Gematsu recently highlighted new lore details, expanding on the previously revealed city of Eibon (see trailer below). These updates offer further insight into the game's blend of humorous storytelling and the intriguing juxtaposition of the bizarre and the ordinary within the world of Hetherau.
Hotta Studios, a subsidiary of Perfect World (creators of the successful Tower of Fantasy), is aiming to distinguish Neverness to Everness within the crowded 3D RPG landscape. A notable feature is the inclusion of open-world driving, allowing players to customize and drive a variety of vehicles – though caution is advised, as collisions are realistically impactful.
The game faces significant competition upon its full release. It will contend with established titles such as MiHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero and NetEase's Ananta (formerly Project Mugen), both setting a high bar for mobile 3D open-world RPGs.
