Epic's Freebie: Unlock Today's Mystery Game

Escape Academy, a highly-rated escape-room style puzzle game, is the Epic Games Store's free game offering for January 16th, 2025. This marks the fourth free game offered by EGS in 2025, and based on its OpenCritic score of 80, it's the highest-rated freebie so far this year.

Players will have a full week, until January 23rd, to claim the game. Developed by Coin Crew Games, Escape Academy challenges players to hone their escape room skills as students at the titular academy. The game, initially released in July 2022, previously had a limited-time free offer on the EGS on January 1st, 2024. This current giveaway provides a full week of access. This is particularly beneficial for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as Escape Academy is leaving the service on January 15th.
