A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game message feature. Director Junya Ishizaki clarified this decision, stating that the approximately forty-minute gameplay sessions don't allow sufficient time for message interaction. He explained, "The messaging feature has been disabled due to the limited time available within the roughly forty-minute sessions."
