Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test: A Three-Hour Daily Limit
The upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign network test has imposed a three-hour daily playtime restriction for participants. This limited access test will run from February 14th to 17th, exclusively for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 players. Applications are currently open via the official FromSoftware website.
The news of a daily playtime cap might disappoint those anticipating extensive gameplay, but it's crucial to remember this is a preliminary test focusing on network stability and load testing. The test's purpose is to verify online systems before the full game launch.
Following the phenomenal success of Elden Ring in 2022, the announcement of Nightreign was a significant surprise, especially considering previous statements about no sequels or further DLC after the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. Revealed at The Game Awards 2024, Nightreign represents a notable departure for FromSoftware, prioritizing co-op gameplay and incorporating roguelike elements like randomized encounters.
