微软发布了其最新的游戏内浏览器Edge Game Assist的预览版，专为PC游戏优化。微软表示：“88%的PC玩家在游戏中使用浏览器来获取帮助、追踪进度，甚至收听音乐或与朋友聊天。这些操作需要你拿出手机或Alt+Tab切换到PC桌面，打断游戏进程。” 这一过程相当繁琐，因此微软相信有更好的方法，于是Edge Game Assist诞生了。
Edge Game Assist是“第一个提供丰富游戏中心化浏览体验的游戏内浏览器——包括访问你来自PC和移动设备的浏览器数据”。这个标准微软Edge的特殊版本通过游戏栏以叠加层形式显示在玩家游戏之上，提供流畅的体验，无需Alt+Tab切换出游戏。它还将共享与实际Edge浏览器相同的个人数据，因此所有收藏夹、历史记录、Cookie和表单填写都可用，无需登录。
最重要的是，它将通过新的“游戏感知标签页”主动推荐你正在玩的游戏的提示和指南，无需在浏览器中手动输入。根据微软的研究，“40%的PC玩家在玩游戏时会查找提示、指南和其他帮助”。Edge Game Assist希望通过立即提供这些指南来简化这一过程。你甚至可以固定此标签页，以便在实时游戏中显示小部件，从而更轻松地遵循指南。
然而，由于目前处于测试阶段，此自动功能目前仅限于少数热门游戏，但微软保证将在开发过程中逐步增加对其他游戏的支持。目前，它支持以下游戏：
