Bloodmoon Island, shrouded in Deathfog and with its connecting bridge destroyed, presents a significant hurdle in Divinity: Original Sin 2. This guide outlines two primary methods to overcome this obstacle and access the island's quests and storyline advancements.
The remnants of the destroyed bridge northeast of Cloisterwood, near Jahan and Witch Alice, offer a path. Using Spirit Vision reveals the broken segments. Several strategies facilitate crossing:
Gloves of Teleportation: These teleport each party member individually, albeit slowly.
Translocation Skills: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, or Tactical Retreat allow teleporting, but depend on party member abilities.
Teleporter Pyramids: Two pyramids are needed. One companion uses translocation to reach the other side, then the rest teleport using the pyramids.
Fast Travel: A companion with translocation reaches the island, activates the waypoint, allowing the rest to fast travel.
An undead ferryman at a pier northwest of Cloisterwood offers a ferry across the Deathfog. However, this is treacherous:
With Fane: Only Fane, being undead and immune to Deathfog, survives the crossing. He activates the waypoint, allowing the rest to fast travel.
Without Fane: This requires at least two Teleporter Pyramids. A companion takes the ferry (and dies), the others teleport to them using the pyramids, then resurrect the fallen companion. This method is far riskier and less efficient than using the bridge.
Important Note: Avoid attacking the Undead Ferryman unless prepared. He retaliates with a potentially lethal Deathfog spell. A quick save is highly recommended before engaging. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3,750 XP. For parties without Fane, the Spirit Bridge method is generally recommended for its speed and safety.
