Get Your Pet
As soon as you dive into Diablo 4 Season 7, head to the nearest town with a Wardrobe to claim your pet. While pets don't participate in battles, they're invaluable for automatically collecting gold and materials, saving you precious time to focus on combat and loot.
Grab Your Mercenaries
If you own the Vessel of Hatred expansion, visit the Den to recruit Mercenaries. Solo players can have up to two Mercenaries, simplifying leveling and combat while also allowing you to build Rapport for additional rewards.
Follow the Seasonal Questline and Level Up
Begin on Normal difficulty and follow the seasonal questline, marked by green leaf icons on your map. This questline introduces you to the new mechanics of Season 7, including Headhunt zones, Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, and Witch powers. The questline, interspersed with puzzles, mainly involves farming Favors in Headhunt zones, which is also the fastest way to reach level 60. Keep defeating bosses in these zones, collect Favors, and enhance your Witch powers simultaneously.
Unlock Your Class Power
A handy quality-of-life update means you no longer need to repeat class-specific priority quests if you've already completed them on another character. Just log into the Eternal realm with your previous character first. For example, if you're playing a Rogue in Season 7, log in with a pre-existing Rogue who has completed these quests, then switch to your new Season 7 Rogue, and your class power will unlock at the appropriate level.
Headhunt Zones
While navigating Headhunt zones, don't forget to complete Whispers. Opt for the smallest, most compact zones for higher enemy density and quicker farming. Prioritize the Fugitive and Shepherd Whisper quests; the former involves recovering a head or destroying a husk by defeating Elites and interacting with roots, while the latter is an easy escort mission. Accumulate 10 Grim Favors and exchange them at the Tree of Whispers or with the Raven of the Tree found in each Headhunt zone.
Witchcraft Powers
At the Tree of Whispers, use the Altars of Witchcraft to buy and upgrade Witchcraft powers with Restless Rot, obtained from defeating Rot enemies. While these powers are affordable to purchase, upgrades can be costly. Focus on damage-enhancing powers for passive damage boosts. Some unique Witch powers are available only at Forgotten Altars, which can appear in various dungeons and can be more frequently encountered with a Draught of Whispers.
Rootholds
Rootholds, a new dungeon type in Season 7, are unlocked using Whispering Woods from Whispers and Silent Chests. These dungeons operate like a rogue-lite mode with negative modifiers that enhance loot quality. As you explore, open Exposed Roots for loot, with the modifiers affecting both the number and quality of these roots. Save your Roothold keys for Torment 1 difficulty to maximize Ancestral loot gains.
Occult Gems
Late in the game, craft Occult Gems at the Tree of Whispers with Gelena. These gems, which you slot into jewelry, outperform regular gems but require a hefty amount of Restless Rot and Heads, which drop from Roothold bosses and Fugitives. The Draught of Whispers can increase your chances of obtaining Heads from bosses.
Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons
Incorporate Pits and Nightmare Dungeons into your routine to obtain and level up Glyphs, and farm Infernal Hordes for masterworking materials to enhance your Uniques.
