After the successful releases of *The Witcher 3* and *Cyberpunk 2077*, not all the experts at CD Projekt RED remained on board. Some chose to venture out and work on *The Blood of Dawnwalker*. This new game has been recently unveiled and is being developed by Rebel Wolves, a studio founded by a veteran from CD Projekt RED, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz.
Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz shed light on his decision to leave CDPR, explaining his main motivations:
"I wanted to do something different with my friends, which led to the inception of Rebel Wolves. We have a deep-rooted passion for role-playing games and their rich history. However, I believe that the traditional RPG rules can be evolved and expanded. We've come up with some truly innovative ideas. Convincing a large corporation to innovate and work with entirely new intellectual property is challenging. We realized that to bring our vision to life, we needed to establish our own studio. Given that we're exploring novel solutions, it's a risky venture. In a smaller studio like ours, the dynamics are different; we focus on the relationships and communication between people. A smaller team, in my opinion, can achieve more because communication is streamlined and discussing the vision is easier. It's simpler to feel the 'creative fire' and create something truly unique."
