Similar to Sonic Rumble's major pre-launch crossover event with iconic Sega characters, developers are increasingly offering soft launch players extensive content previews. This trend continues with the extraction 'shooter' Dark and Darker Mobile, as Pre-Season #3 'Grappling with the Abyss' launches today and runs through June 10th.
The first major permanent addition this season is Arena mode, bringing competitive PvP to Dark and Darker Mobile. Players will engage in 3v3, best-of-five deathmatches on randomized maps against other teams. To participate, players must reach at least level 10 with a minimum 500 equipment score, and can bring one hired mercenary companion into the arena.
The second significant feature is the new PvE mode called Shadow Realm. This weekly challenge presents escalating boss battles against various powerful monsters. Players must first defeat waves of existing creatures to summon each boss, creating substantial challenges before even reaching the main encounter. This demanding progression explains why players need account level 15 to access this mode.
New Features OverviewPre-Season #3 includes numerous other additions. The Guild Encampment provides a dedicated social space for guild members to interact and communicate. The Soulstone system, unlocked at account level 8, allows players to equip monster soulstones to acquire new traits. Meanwhile, the Stat Tree system offers permanent character progression, alongside more loot, monsters, equipment, and quality-of-life enhancements in this update.
