Paradox Interactive has revealed initial details about their upcoming Crusader Kings 3 expansion, centered around nomadic rulers. This DLC introduces a novel governance system specifically designed for nomadic peoples, incorporating a unique currency: "herd." The size of the ruler's herd directly impacts their authority and influences various gameplay aspects, such as military power, cavalry unit composition, relationships with vassals, and other core mechanics.

The nomadic lifestyle necessitates constant movement, a key element of this expansion. A chieftain's migration decisions will be shaped by interactions with settled populations, offering choices between negotiation and forceful displacement.

Furthermore, rulers will command transportable yurts, similar to the adventurer system. These yurts can be upgraded with various components offering distinct advantages.
