A visually stunning new game, Cato: Buttered Cat, is now available for PC and will soon launch on Android. The title cleverly blends the concepts of a cat and buttered toast, creating a unique gaming experience.
Ever pondered what happens when you attach buttered toast to a cat’s back? The developers of Cato: Buttered Cat have, and their answer is a mesmerizing anti-gravity spin that keeps the cat aloft indefinitely!
Originally crafted for the 2022 BOOOM Gamejam by GCORES, this project by Team Woll received such positive feedback that it evolved into a full-scale game.
Now available on Steam for PC, Cato: Buttered Cat is also slated for Android and other platforms. While the Google Play page is still in development, you can pre-register on the official TapTap page for the Android version.
What’s the Gameplay Like in Cato: Buttered Cat?
This puzzle platformer lets you control both a cat and a slice of buttered toast as they navigate challenges, defeat foes, and explore vibrant, whimsical worlds.
Players will traverse five unique worlds filled with quirky machines and clever contraptions. The game features 200 levels, including optional side quests, with story fragments scattered throughout for players to uncover. Plus, there are 30 distinct outfits to customize your experience.
The dynamic between the cat and toast is a highlight. The cat can climb, sprint, and perform agile maneuvers, while the toast serves as a projectile, which can be powered up to help the cat access hard-to-reach areas.
Cato: Buttered Cat is packed with hidden rooms and delightful Easter eggs. Check out the trailer below for a sneak peek!
