Baldur's Gate 3's upcoming Patch 7 introduces terrifying new evil endings, offering players a chilling glimpse into the consequences of embracing darkness.
A New Evil Ending: A Father's Legacy
Larian Studios recently unveiled a 52-second cinematic teaser on X (formerly Twitter), showcasing a new evil ending where the Dark Urge's reign of terror culminates in a horrifying display of power.
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!
The preview depicts the Dark Urge's companions meeting gruesome ends as they fall under the control of their "father," Bhaal, seizing control of the Netherbrain. The Dark Urge forces their companions to their deaths, a chilling prelude to a reign of terror. A chilling narration accompanies the scene: "Time for the final act. Your tragedy has become mankind's," foreshadowing the Dark Urge's own eventual downfall.
This is just one of several new evil endings promised in Patch 7. Larian previously hinted at other dark conclusions, including the Dark Urge wading through a sea of blood and corpses, and a town consumed by "sheer mindless bliss" under the True Absolute's influence. These endings aren't exclusive to Dark Urge playthroughs.
Patch 7: More Than Just Evil Endings

Patch 7 is a massive update, including:
- New evil endings (as detailed above).
- A dynamic split-screen mode for cooperative play.
- Enhanced Honour Mode challenges.
- A highly anticipated modding toolkit.
Larian Studios has confirmed that this isn't the end for Baldur's Gate 3. Future updates will include crossplay and photo mode, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing improvements based on community feedback.
Currently in closed beta, Patch 7 is slated for release this September. While the exact date remains unannounced, players can register on the Steam store page for early access.
