Ubisoft Mainz has unveiled a new trailer for Anno 1800: Pax Romana, offering fresh details about the upcoming game. While previously announced as featuring Lazio and Albion, the trailer suggests Lazio serves as a prologue before the main game unfolds in Albion.
Creative Director Manuel Rainer explains that Lazio starts idyllically, but a catastrophic event forces players to seek refuge and establish a new settlement in the challenging British Isles (Albion). Albion presents a stark contrast to Lazio, characterized by harsh weather, rebellious tribes, and its geographical distance from Rome, making governance a significant challenge.
Players take on the role of a Roman governor, tasked with overcoming these obstacles through diplomacy as well as force. Respecting local customs and traditions is key to success. A unique feature is the customizable ships, allowing players to choose between prioritizing speed with oarsmen or bolstering firepower with archery turrets.
Anno 1800: Pax Romana is scheduled for release in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
