Mark your calendars for August 12 when Alien: Earth premieres its first two episodes simultaneously at 8PM ET on Hulu in the US, and on FX and Disney+ internationally (8PM PT/ET). New episodes of the eight-part season will release weekly every Tuesday.
A New Chapter in the Alien Saga
Noah Hawley's Alien: Earth transports viewers to 2120 - set between Prometheus and the original Alien film, just two years before the Nostromo's doomed mission. The story follows the crash landing of the mysterious USCSS Maginot, where protagonist Wendy (Sydney Chandler) and a group of soldiers uncover Earth's deadliest threat.
For timeline reference, Alien: Romulus bridges the gap between Alien and Aliens.
The Corporate Reign of Earth
In this future dystopia, Earth is ruled by five megacorporations: Weyland-Yutani (the franchise's primary antagonist), Prodigy, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold. Humans coexist with cyborgs and synthetics until Prodigy's CEO creates hybrids - humanoid robots housing human consciousness. Wendy represents the first successful hybrid prototype, embodying the franchise's recurring theme of immortality.
The plot thickens when Weyland-Yutani's spacecraft collides with Prodigy City, exposing Wendy and fellow hybrids to unimaginable horrors. Show details hint at multiple monster varieties beyond standard Xenomorphs, with reports suggesting five distinct terrifying lifeforms.
Official Synopsis
In 2120's Corporate Era, Earth's population coexists with cyborgs and synthetics until Prodigy Corporation's breakthrough hybrid technology changes everything. After a catastrophic collision between Weyland-Yutani and Prodigy forces, the hybrids encounter terrifying lifeforms beyond humanity's worst nightmares.

The Franchise's AI Legacy
The Alien series has featured memorable synthetic characters since the beginning. Notable examples include Ash (Alien), Bishop (Aliens), Call (Alien: Resurrection), David (Prometheus/Alien: Covenant), and Walter (Alien: Covenant).
Showrunner Noah Hawley previously explained his creative decision to deviate from Prometheus' established lore, preferring the original films' retro-futuristic aesthetic. After consulting Ridley Scott, Hawley chose to explore new narrative territory while honoring the franchise's essence.
The Alien universe continues expanding with Alien: Romulus 2 in development and rumors of another Predator crossover brewing in Predator: Badlands.
