AFK Journey Character Tier List: A Guide to Building Your Optimal Team
AFK Journey boasts a large roster of characters, making team building a challenge. This tier list, updated for November 2024, helps you prioritize character development. Remember, most characters are viable, but some excel in endgame content. This list ranks characters based on versatility, overall performance in PvE, Dream Realm, and PvP.

S-Tier: Top-Tier Performers
This tier houses the must-have characters, excelling across various game modes. Lily May, a recent addition, significantly boosts Wilder teams with her damage and utility. Thoran remains a top F2P tank, while Reinier is a crucial support for both PvE and PvP. Koko, Smokey & Meerky, and Odie are essential supports for various game modes. Eironn, with Damien and Arden, forms a dominant Arena team. Tasi offers strong crowd control for the Wilder faction, and Harak, a powerful Hypogean/Celestial warrior, becomes stronger as battles progress.
A-Tier: Strong Contenders
This tier features characters highly effective in most situations. Lyca and Vala excel with the Haste stat, boosting attack frequency. Antandra is a solid alternative tank to Thoran. Viperian complements Graveborn teams with energy-draining abilities. Alsa provides strong DPS and synergizes well with Eironn in PvP. Phraesto, a durable tank, lacks damage output. Ludovic is a valuable Graveborn healer, particularly effective with Talene. Cecia, while still a capable Marksman, has decreased in value due to meta shifts. Sonja provides significant improvements to the Lightborne faction.
B-Tier: Situational Utility
These characters effectively fill roles but are outclassed by higher-tier options. Valen and Brutus are strong early-game DPS choices. Granny Dahnie serves as a decent alternative tank. Arden and Damien, while meta in PvP, lack utility elsewhere. Florabelle offers secondary DPS support, but requires significant investment. Soren performs adequately in PvP but lacks effectiveness in other modes. Korin's Dream Realm performance has diminished.
C-Tier: Early-Game Options
These characters are generally outclassed quickly. While useful early on, they should be replaced with higher-tier alternatives as soon as possible. Parisa offers AoE control but is quickly surpassed.
