Krafton has officially rebranded Dark and Darker Mobile as Abyss of Dungeons, marking its strategic separation from Ironmace Studios' legal disputes with Nexon. While the name change appears to be the most significant alteration so far, it signifies Krafton's effort to dissociate from the ongoing controversy.
The legal battle between Ironmace Studios and Nexon continues over alleged misuse of trade secrets, with Nexon claiming former employees developed Dark and Darker using proprietary assets from their tenure. As the lawsuit persists, Krafton has proceeded with distancing its mobile adaptation from the original title.

The transition to Abyss of Dungeons maintains the existing gameplay experience, despite earlier deviations from the PC version such as the third-person perspective shift. Players can expect the same dungeon-crawling adventure they've anticipated, just under a new name.
While disappointing for Ironmace supporters, the renamed title still offers potential for mobile enthusiasts, especially with its imminent soft launch in Brazil, Thailand, Indonesia, and Mexico on June 11th. Once legal matters resolve, Abyss of Dungeons could serve as a companion experience to Dark and Darker's PC version.
