Minecraft players eagerly await Java Snapshot updates, offering glimpses into the sandbox game's future. Snapshot 25w06a introduces three exciting chicken variants, sure to be highly sought after. This guide reveals their locations.
The Warm Chicken, sporting yellow and orange feathers, blends seamlessly into warmer biomes. Look for it in these locations:
Sporting blue feathers, the Cold Chicken thrives in colder biomes. Check these areas:
Veteran players will recognize the Temperate Chicken—the classic chicken, now officially named! These birds reside in biomes not classified as warm or cold.
Collecting all chicken variants requires a bit of know-how. Unlike taming dogs, chickens don't have a traditional taming method. Instead, carry seeds; chickens will follow you, allowing you to guide them into a fenced area. Repeat this process until you've gathered your desired number.
Remember, depending on the chicken's location, the journey back to your base could be long. Setting up checkpoints to leave your livestock while you collect more is a wise strategy, especially in Survival mode where dangers lurk, particularly at night.
Once you've gathered all three variants, breeding is straightforward. Feed seeds to two chickens of the same type to get an egg that hatches the same type. For a surprise, feed seeds to two different types—the resulting egg will hatch a random variant.
That's how to find and breed all three Minecraft chicken variants! For more Minecraft adventures, learn how to obtain Armadillo Scutes.
Minecraft is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile.
