SoMoGa Inc. has unveiled a modernized version of Vay for Android, iOS, and Steam. This classic 16-bit RPG, originally released in Japan in 1993 on the Sega CD, has been resurrected with enhanced graphics, a streamlined user interface, and controller support. Initially developed by Hertz and localized for the US by Working Designs, SoMoGa first revived the game on iOS in 2008.
This revamped edition boasts over 100 enemies, a dozen challenging bosses, and exploration across 90 diverse areas. A key addition is user-adjustable difficulty levels, offering a customizable gameplay experience. Convenience features include auto-saving and Bluetooth controller compatibility. Players can acquire new equipment, level up characters to learn new spells, and even utilize an AI system for autonomous character combat.
The narrative unfolds in a distant galaxy scarred by a millennium-long interstellar war. A colossal, malfunctioning machine crashes onto the technologically underdeveloped planet Vay, unleashing devastation. Players embark on a quest to rescue their abducted wife, facing the destructive war machines that threaten their kingdom. This gripping storyline, blending classic JRPG elements with modern enhancements, features nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes with both English and Japanese audio options. The game retains its JRPG roots, with experience and gold earned through random encounters.
Vay revamped is available now on the Google Play Store for $5.99. Don't miss out on this premium title! For more gaming news, check out our other articles.
