Milly Alcock, the Australian actress renowned for her role as the young Rhaenyra Targaryen in the Game of Thrones spinoff, "House of the Dragon," faced a challenging start to her journey in the iconic series. During her appearance on The Tonight Show, Alcock shared a humbling experience from her second day on set. She recounted how an individual in a high-ranking position approached her and suggested that she needed an acting coach. "On my second day on House of the Dragon, one of the, I'm not gonna say who, but someone very high up, pulled me aside and was like, 'Um, we're gonna get you an acting coach,'" Alcock explained, admitting that the suggestion left her "mortified."

Reflecting on the incident with humor, the Critics Choice award nominee jokingly remarked, "It just confirmed everything that I've kind of known to be true, [which] is that I'm not very good at my job," adding, "You know what I mean! I was like, 'I can't do this. This is terrible. This is a big mistake.'" Despite these early doubts, Alcock has since proven her talent, not only in "House of the Dragon" but also with upcoming roles as Kara Zor-El / Supergirl in this summer's Superman movie and next year's "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow."

In "House of the Dragon," Alcock portrayed King Viserys I Targaryen's daughter and heir, appearing as a series regular in Season 1 and as a guest star in Season 2. The series, which chronicles the decline of House Targaryen, premiered in August 2022, shortly after the conclusion of the original Game of Thrones series. Emma D'Arcy takes over the role of Rhaenyra as she matures into adulthood and eventually becomes Queen.
