Les fans de la série animée classique des années 1990, Spider-Man : The Animated Series, ont ardemment souhaité un renouveau, particulièrement après la sortie de X-Men '97 en 2024. Bien qu'une nouvelle suite animée ne soit toujours pas annoncée (car Marvel se concentre sur de nouvelles saisons de Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man), la saga bien-aimée de Spidey va s'étendre via les bandes dessinées avec Spider-Man '94.

Spider-Man '94 est une série limitée en quatre numéros qui reprend le scénario là où l'émission s'était arrêtée, sur le fameux cliffhanger final de 1998. Le comic réunit Peter Parker et Mary Jane Watson à New York tout en présentant deux redoutables méchants faisant leur première apparition dans cet univers animé. La série est écrite par le vétéran scénariste de Spider-Man (et contributeur à l'émission originale) J.M. DeMatteis, avec les dessins de Jim Towe (Spider-Verse vs. Venomverse) et des couvertures variants par Nick Bradshaw, Ron Lim et John Tyler Christopher.
