The Devarattam app was created to promote Devarattam and highlight its award recipients. It features detailed descriptions of the dance form and its honored artists.

Devarattam is a traditional folk dance from Tamil Nadu.

Historically and today, the Rajakambalathu Nayakkar community has performed this dance.

Devarattam consists of 32 to 72 dance steps, with 32 being the fundamental movements, while the rest are variations of these core steps.

Devarattam dancers hold a kerchief in each hand, wear Salangai (ankle bells) on each leg, and perform to the rhythm of the traditional musical instrument known as the Deva Thunthumi.
