"Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to Support Cloud Saves"

Nintendo has confirmed that the The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch 2 version will indeed support cloud saves, much to the relief of fans. We previously knew that the Nintendo Switch 2 would feature enhanced versions of several Switch 1 games, including The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, a recent disclaimer sparked concerns about the absence of Nintendo's cloud save functionality for this title, as reported by IGN last week.

Initially, Nintendo's pages for the Switch 2 edition of Tears of the Kingdom included a disclaimer stating: "Please note: this software does not support the Nintendo Switch Online paid membership’s Save Data Cloud backup feature." This message led to widespread worry among the gaming community.

PlayHowever, Nintendo has since updated its website with new information. While the page for **Donkey Kong Bananza** has removed all references to cloud saves, the disclaimer on the **Tears of the Kingdom** page has been revised to read: "Save data created in the second save data slot in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition cannot be transferred to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on Nintendo Switch."

This updated disclaimer should alleviate concerns for Switch 2 owners. It indicates that players will be able to transfer their Tears of the Kingdom saves from the original Switch to the Switch 2, but transferring saves from the Switch 2 back to the original system will not be possible, as noted by Eurogamer.

The The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition page also now includes the same message, indicating a similar approach to save transfers.

Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders became available overnight, maintaining a price point of $449.99, and they sold out rapidly, as expected. For more details, you can refer to IGN's Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order guide.
