Ubisoft's unannounced game, Project U, has been plagued by a series of unfortunate leaks. The troubles began in 2022 when gameplay footage emerged shortly after the closed beta testing phase started. These leaks have resurfaced two years later, indicating that the project is still in development. Recently, following what appears to be a reboot of the game’s development, an introductory cinematic has been leaked online.
The origin and authenticity of the cinematic remain unconfirmed. It was shared by blogger Shaun Weber, known for his history of leaking gaming content. Weber has hinted that more videos from Project U could surface if the game continues to be in development for an extended period.
Project U is anticipated to be a session-based cooperative shooter, taking inspiration from the success of Helldivers 2. The leaked footage suggests that the game's narrative centers around an alien machine invasion of Earth, with players assuming the roles of chosen individuals tasked with combating this extraterrestrial threat.
As of now, Ubisoft has not provided any official word on when they plan to formally announce Project U. Fans and gamers alike are eagerly awaiting more information on this intriguing project.
