With the exciting release of the Mythical Island expansion in Pokemon TCG Pocket, Gyarados Ex has quickly risen to prominence as the standout card from that set. For players looking to leverage its power, here are the top Gyarados Ex decks to consider.
Gyarados Ex boasts the following stats and abilities:
Gyarados Ex has emerged as a formidable card in Pokemon TCG Pocket, largely due to its robust HP pool. With 180 HP, it can withstand attacks from heavy hitters like Mewtwo Ex and Pikachu Ex. When combined with Giovanni, Gyarados Ex can knock out these opponents effortlessly. Even without Giovanni, numerous tools are available to inflict chip damage, positioning Gyarados Ex as an excellent finisher in a Water-centric deck.
The strategy with this deck revolves around developing both Greninja and Gyarados Ex while Druddigon holds the Active slot. Druddigon's 100 HP makes it a solid wall, and it can deal chip damage without needing Energy attached. As Druddigon stalls, you can ramp up Greninja to further weaken your opponent, using it as a primary attacker if necessary. Once your opponent is sufficiently weakened, Gyarados Ex steps in as the decisive finisher, capable of wiping out nearly any opponent.
For a more dynamic approach, consider incorporating Vaporeon and Starmie Ex instead of the Greninja line. In this setup, Gyarados Ex remains your finisher, but Starmie Ex and Vaporeon take on the role of initial attackers. The versatility of this deck is its key strength. Starmie Ex can retreat without cost, enabling you to switch to Gyarados Ex at any time. Vaporeon's ability to redistribute Energy ensures that you can efficiently prepare Gyarados Ex without losing turns.
