Ubisoft has confirmed that Star Wars: Outlaws will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2, although fans will have to wait a bit longer than expected. Initially set for a launch alongside the new Nintendo handheld on June 5, the space adventure will now arrive a few months later on September 4.
For those who missed it on PS5, Xbox, and PC, Star Wars: Outlaws is set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. It follows the story of Kay Vess, a small-time criminal who finds herself with a death mark from a cartel. Our reviewer rated it a 7, describing it as "a fun intergalactic heist adventure with great exploration, but it's hindered by simple stealth, repetitive combat, and a few too many bugs at launch."
While Ubisoft didn't share much beyond the release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 version, this update is significant enough to add to the Switch 2 Games List. Amidst the pre-order limbo affecting American and Canadian gamers due to new tariffs introduced by the Republican administration, any news on upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 games is a welcome distraction.
The announcement was made during a panel at Star Wars Celebration in Japan, where Ubisoft also unveiled details about the second story pack for Star Wars: Outlaws, titled A Pirate’s Fortune. In this add-on, Kay Vess will ally with Hondo Ohnaka to take on Stinger Tash, the leader of the Rokana Raiders. Star Wars: Outlaws: A Pirate’s Fortune is slated for release on May 15.
