"Star Wars: KOTOR Remake Still in Development, Developer Confirms"
May 02,2025Author: Logan
Saber Interactive has firmly stated that all its previously announced games are still under active development, despite the prolonged silence surrounding high-profile projects like the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) remake. This reassurance comes on the heels of their latest announcement of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3. Saber's Chief Creative Officer, Tim Willits, took to social media to calm the concerns of the studio's fans, emphasizing the company's commitment to its diverse portfolio.
"Saber Interactive stands as one of the largest independent developers globally," Willits declared. "Our teams are diligently working on a wide array of games spanning multiple genres. Every project we've announced remains in development, and we're eager to unveil more details about our upcoming titles when the time is right."

The most talked-about project in light of Willits' statement is undoubtedly the KOTOR remake. Since its announcement in 2021, this eagerly awaited title has faced numerous challenges, including changes in development teams and apparent pauses in progress. Despite these hurdles, the project remains elusive, with no further updates beyond its initial reveal.
In April 2024, Saber Interactive's CEO, Matthew Karch, confirmed that the KOTOR project was part of their portfolio during their separation from Embracer Group and was actively being developed. "It's clear and it's obvious that we're working on this," Karch stated at the time. "It's been widely reported. What I can assure you is that the game is alive and well, and we're committed to surpassing what fans expect from us."
Willits' recent comments, nearly a year after Karch's, reaffirm this dedication. However, to date, no new visuals or information about the KOTOR remake have been released, leaving fans eager for more.
In addition to the KOTOR remake, Saber Interactive is actively developing other titles. Games like John Carpenter's Toxic Commando and Jurassic Park Survival are slated for a 2025 release, though specific dates remain undisclosed. The studio is also crafting a new Turok game and an untitled project based on Avatar: The Last Airbender. With the recent addition of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 to their lineup, Saber Interactive continues to expand its ambitious game development slate.
