GSC Gameworld, the developers behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, have unveiled their latest roadmap, committing to quarterly updates. On April 14, STALKER's official Twitter (X) account shared insights into the game's roadmap for Q2 2025.
The roadmap will be segmented into quarterly updates, with detailed information released every three months. Accompanying these updates will be patch notes to ensure players are informed about which planned features have been implemented in the game.
Building on the momentum from Q1's updates, which addressed significant issues and introduced multiple hotfixes, GSC Gameworld continues to refine the game based on player feedback. Here's a glimpse of what fans can look forward to in the upcoming updates:
GSC Gameworld has outlined several key updates, focusing particularly on the Beta Mod SDK Kit and further enhancements to the A-Life system. They plan to conduct a closed beta with mod makers to refine the ModKit before its official release. Additionally, they aim to integrate Mod.io and Steam Workshop to enhance the modding community's experience.
The A-Life System, crucial for the game's NPC AI and simulation, will see continued improvements. Following a substantial 110 GB update for the Christmas patch last year, the developers are set to introduce "persistent A-Life improvements" and enhance human combat with smarter tactics, including better use of cover and flanking, and limited grenade usage.
Mutants in the game will also receive updates, now capable of eating corpses and reacting more dynamically to threats. Other enhancements include the introduction of mutant loot, the ability to skip shader compilation, an expanded player stash window, support for wide screen aspect ratios, two new unspecified weapons, and ongoing efforts in stabilization and optimization.
